Paige VanZant will face Bec Rawlings at UFC on FOX 21
VanZant (6-2) recently finished second on season 22 of “Dancing with the Stars“.
VanZant has not competed in mixed martial arts since last December when her bloom was taken off by a different kind of rose-Rose Namajunas.
UFC superstar Paige VanZant explained to ESPN that she initially turned to fighting because she was bullied. The pairing was announced Thursday morning by the Las Vegas-based promotion. She turned all those down, however, because now, nothing outweighs her desire to fight again for the UFC, she said.
Fresh off of her successful run to the finals on “Dancing With The Stars“, UFC strawweight contender Paige VanZant is set to make her return to the Octagon on August 27 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada at UFC on FOX 21.
“Right now I’m 100 percent fight-focused and I would love to participate in anything the WWE has to offer when the timing’s right as long as it works with my fight schedule”.
The UFC fighter is set to return to the Octagon, which caused her to turn down a movie role she previously committed to. “I miss the UFC and this is my world and I belong in it and I’m excited to get back in the cage”. VanZant now sits as the No. 10-ranked strawweight contender on the UFC’s official rankings list.
Her opponent, Rawlings, is coming off the back of two UFC victories, over Seo Hee Ham and Lisa Ellis, and she will be eager to get the big-name win that comes with defeating VanZant.
