Pair of pregnant women contracted Zika virus while out of country
However, health officials are advising the public not to worry, as all of the USA cases so far were contracted overseas from mosquitos in countries affected by outbreaks. The virus is spread through mosquito bites and is not transmitted person-to-person. Infants with microcephaly have smaller than normal heads and their brains do not develop properly.

In addition, the CDC issued a travel alert for expectant mothers in the U.S.to avoid Latin American and Caribbean countries – including Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Martinique, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Suriname, Venezuela and Puerto Rico. What we do know is that there’s no medical intervention for this; there are no drugs to treat someone who becomes infected with the virus.
