Pak court declares MQM chief Altaf Hussain an absconder
Additional District and Sessions Judge Ateequr Rehman ordered the Satellite Town Police to register a treason case against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain. He said it was the UK authorities which have registered money laundering and Imran Farooq murder cases and not the Pakistan government.
“We have already started preparing a draft for the legal action”, he said.
Nisar said Altaf is using language of enemy.
In a statement on Saturday, the MQM Coordination Committee members said that the arrest of MQM workers and supporters and keeping them at undisclosed places under the garb of targeted operation was being done under a planned conspiracy that had created uncertainty and spread fear in every nook and corner of Karachi.
“Altaf Hussain asked Indian government to save ‘Muhajirs” living in Karachi.
“It is not against any political party”, he clarified, adding that the targeted operation had produced good results and peace had finally returned to the city. Sattar said the MQM has been struggling to become a national party but some “hidden forces” have always obstructed the party’s campaigns in other parts of the country.
Addressing a press conference, he called the London-based MQM leader’s speech a humiliation for Pakistan.
“The operation will continue with the same pace”, the interior minister said.
The noose around Altaf is being tightened over two cases filed in London and he is venting his anger on Pakistanis, the interior minister claimed.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has denounced the speech of MQM Chief Altaf Hussain and termed it tantamount to waging a war against the country.
