Pakistan, Afghanistan to fight ‘common enemy’ together, says Army Chief
Security officials said at least 18 terrorists had been killed in Sindh overnight, and 13 more in other parts of the country.
The statement further added that the Pakistani authorities have been asked to take actions against the sanctuaries and leaders of the terror groups operating in its soil. Official said that movement of all sorts of goods, transport and people has been stopped with Afghanistan.
Afghanistan said it would go to the United Nations if violence against its citizens continues. According to Ghafoor, Bajva “welcomed recent proposals from Afghan authorities to take forward the mutual coordination” on joint fight against terrorism.
The COAS has clarified that enhanced security measures taken along the Pak-Afghan border were aimed at fighting the common enemy who are “terrorists of all hues and colour”. “But who knew that this barbaric attack would be happening around the same time”, said a Russian official.
Rahmatullah Nabil, former head of the National Directorate of Security, recently claimed that Pakistan has stepped up its intervention within Afghanistan to show the world, and the U.S. in particular, that it has legitimate security concerns vis-à-vis that country. “Kabul is also a victim of terrorism and they need to cooperate with us”.
“Details will be shared”, the army spokesman said. The attack killed dozens.
Following the suicide attack, Pakistan closed crossing points on the border with Afghanistan and targeted suspected militant bases in Nangarhar with artillery. Pakistani media claimed that the exercise was to be held in Rattu in Gilgit Baltistan area of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, which was promptly denied by Russian Federation, saying the military exercise was planned in advance to be held at Special Forces Academy in Cherat which was nowhere close to POK. In this deadliest attack, at least 88 people were killed and over 200 injured in an attack which was claimed by the terror group – ISIS.
The security sources informed that the arrest was made in Bajaur Agency. They have killed a large number of Afghan troops and worldwide forces.
Shahbaz Sharif, chief minister in the eastern Punjab province, announced late Friday the arrest of a suspect in connection with the February 13 suicide bombing.
Pakistan has also launched several cross-border “strikes” against Islamists’ positions in Afghanistan taking down their camp sites and weapons storage facilities in a first-of-its-kind attack.
Pakistan and Afghanistan have fought against terrorism and shall continue this effort together, the Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) stated in a press release.
