Pakistan Air Force base in Peshawar attacked by Militants
Militants raided an air force base in northwest Pakistan, prompting a gun battle that left six attackers dead.
A major had been injured in the exchange of fire, he said, but added that “clearance operations” were now in progress. Search is on for hidden terrorists.

Following the attack, a heavy contingent of the Quick Reaction Force (QRF) reached the spot.
About seven to 10 militants launched the base attack early Friday morning. “The attackers first went to the guard room”. DG ISPR said security personnel have reached Air Force Road. However, additional security officials had been called in along with police officials.
Peshawar has been target of several terrorist attacks.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack from any militant groups. Sounds of explosions and gunfire were heard during the intial attack.
