Pakistan blames India for deadly Kashmir artillery attack
Pakistan said four civilians had been killed and five wounded in artillery fire that struck villages near the border with India, blaming its neighbour for the casualties.
“On July 15 around 8.50, Pakistani rangers resorted to firing in the Akhnoor Sector in which one BSF personnel sustained injury”.
There have been nine ceasefire violations during July.
Villagers living close to the border showed journalists bullet marks and gaping holes made by Pakistan mortar shelling on their houses.
ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, Pakistan Foreign Office summoned the Indian High Commissioner, Dr. T. C. A. Raghavan, in Islamabad and registered a strong protest with him over violation of Pakistani airspace by an Indian drone. “It appears to be of Chinese design, and is commercially available off the shelf”.
The Indian side was later told that the firing was initiated by Indian troops and an Indian drone was brought down by Pakistan.
Jaishankar also said that Pakistan had violated ceasefire multiple times in the last two days.
To a question about Pakistan-Russia cooperation, the spokesperson said the two countries are deeply engaged in finalizing different projects.
The Indian high commissioner assured of conveying the message to his authorities, accordingly.The spokesman told the media that the unprovoked ceasefire violations by India at the LoC and the Working Boundary were against the spirit of the understanding reached in Ufa.
“BSF troops guarding the border line retaliated effectively and the firing exchange continued till 0530 hours today”, a BSF officer said.
Jaishankar said Doval also spoke to Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit for corrective steps but there “was no response from Pakistan government to our demarche”.
“Not providing any concrete evidence was enough a proof that Pakistan had indulged in levelling wild allegations to in a way justify its frequent ceasefire violation at the LoC and global Border in the state of Jammu and Kashmir”, said an official.
The fresh ceasefire violation has come after Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi met on the sidelines of a summit in Russian Federation, later giving a joint statement deploring terrorism and vowing to support each oter in their fight against it. “But even the Indian Government should also understand the real face of Pakistan”, he added.
