Pakistan getting prosperous, economy increasing: PM Nawaz
The upcoming visit of the Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov to Pakistan will further strengthen the existing economic relations between the two countries, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi said. The Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited Belarus in August this year while the Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko had paid a state visit to Pakistan in May this year.
Sharif highlighted the key areas of his government’s focus.
He urged the entrepreneurs and businessmen to take advantage of the business and investor friendly policies of the government. He said his government’s policy revolves around the elimination of extremism and terrorism, economic development, ensuring continuous supply of energy and providing better education and healthcare services to the people. Speaking about ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb, he said the military offensive was progressing successfully and reiterated his resolve to rid the country of the cancer of extremism and terrorism.
He further said that Pakistan desires peace within and outside its borders.
Sharif said coal, gas, solar and wind power projects are being established to end the power outages by 2017.
He said that soon after being elected, and even before taking oath of office, the government has been engaged with the Chinese leadership to plan and formulate what would later be called the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), energy and infrastructure programme with investments of about 46 billion dollars in Pakistan.
On this occasion, he also said that a few critical moves were taken in order to have a fast track development of the country and people showed their trust on the government in recent days.
In his welcome address, Chairman Board of Investment Miftah Ismail said Pakistan is blessed with human and natural resources which make it the most attractive place for investment.
A large business delegation would precede the prime minister’s entourage for participating in the Third Pakistan-Belarus Business and Investment Forum that will be held on November 10.
