Pakistan invites India for talks on Kashmir violence
“NIA is further investigating the role of Lashkar in the present unrest in Kashmir”, Inspector General of NIA Sanjeev Singh told reporters here. Addressing the media on all-party meet, home minister Rajnath Singh said that all parties put forth their concerns in one voice and with the right intent.
“Pakistan is making all out efforts to resolve Kashmir dispute by highlighting this core dispute on all worldwide forums and should highlight this issue in United Nations meeting next month”. However, he said that the percentage of miscreants, who are brainwashing the youth in the valley, is low.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior Union Ministers including, Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj attended the meeting. “Pakistan and India both must come forward and engage with each other so that their disputes can be resolved”, it added. Pakistan forgets that it is attacking its own people through warplanes.
The Prime Minister asked External Affairs Ministry to get in touch with residents of PoK settled in various parts of the world and gather information about the “pathetic state of affairs” there and inform the world community about it. Singh said that the Centre has cleared an economic package of Rs 80,000 crore for the all-round development of the valley.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday said that India would no longer tolerate Pakistan’s interference in India’s internal affairs. This lead to a violent protests across the kashmir Valley.
On Friday, Aziz said the 1-3 August Pakistan envoys conference spent considerable time on the “grim situation” in Kashmir – a reference to the unrest in Indian Kashmir that New Delhi says is fomented by Pakistan.
He said every Kashmiri wants peace and has faith in democracy but at the same time the government must ensure there is no compromise on national security.
The NIA’s comments came a day after India handed over a “strong demarche” to Pakistan over its continued support to cross-border terrorism in India. All parties were of the view that the government should take care of the problems of the Kashmiris and try to solve this with sensitivity.
Giving an insight into the violence that has been taking place in Kashmir for the last 34 days, Baig said it was different from the past episodes like in 2010.
He said while there can be no compromise on national security, “we have to win the confidence of the people of the Jammu and Kashmir”.
CM Mufti appealed to the Prime Minister for his personal intervention to end the unrest in the kashmir valley.
