Pakistan Orders Probe Into Mysterious Death of British Woman
She said on Tuesday: “I’m not going to rest until I’m satisfied I know the cause of her death”.
The latest case surfaced less than two weeks after taboo-defying social media celebrity Qandeel Baloch was strangled by her brother for posting racy photos that were deemed shameful in conservative Pakistan.

Ms Shah said: “The police’s hands are tied”.
Police started its investigation after a British man claimed his wife had been murdered in a so-called “honor” killing.
He said Shahid was visiting her family´s village Pindori in Punjab´s Jehlum district. “Miss Shahid’s husband is applying to the courts in Pakistan for an exhumation order in the next 48 hours because she was buried without his knowledge”.
“Should this be (an honour killing) case then we must ensure justice is done for Samia and we must ensure this never happens again”, Shahid’s local MP in Britain, Naz Shah, has written in a letter to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. She is also liaising with Foreign Office officials.
But Ms Shadid’s father has strongly dismissed the claims describing them as “lies and allegations” adding that his daughter had “come to Pakistan on her own and was not under any pressure from her family”.
Her family told him she suffered a heart attack or an asthma attack.
Pakistan’s independent Human Rights Commission says almost 1,100 women were killed in the country a year ago by relatives who believed they had dishonoured their families.
Earlier today he had said: “How could I or my family kill her?”
Shah said she could not comment on the nature of threats allegedly made to her, but said she had been called by police to discuss her security arrangements.
Kazam, a Pakistani national, says he received news of his wife’s death last Wednesday while in Dubai where the couple lived together.
The woman confirmed Shahid’s family was unhappy with her decision to marry Kazam but had grown to accept it. “If they hadn’t accepted her, why would they have her back in their lives?” she said.
But her husband Syed Mukhtar Kazim has alleged that Shahid’s death was not due to natural causes and claims she was murdered due to her marriage to him.
The friend, who does not want to be identified, said: “She was such a jolly, bubbly person, always had a smile on her face, and was always there to help you”. “I believe she was killed because her parents were not happy with our marriage”. Her dad loved her so much.
“Inquiries are now continuing with the relevant authorities to establish the cause”.
