Pakistan to present United Nations with proof of India’s interference: Aziz
The remarks of NSA come close on the heels of statement of Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Qazi M Khalilullah who on Thursday denied any proposal for NSAs of India and Pakistan meet at New York during an upcoming summit of United Nations later this month.
He said it has virtually destroyed the infrastructure of all the terrorists groups and all the tribal agencies are now virtually clear.
Sartaj Aziz also pointed out that the on-going operation “Zarb-i-Azb”, aimed at clearing North Waziristan and launched in June previous year, is now 90 to 95 percent complete. The government is committed to weeding out terrorism at every cost as no country could develop without a peaceful society, he said. “The dossier discusses how India is interfering in Pakistan’s internal matters and spreading terrorism”, Aziz said.
The firing incident took place hours after Pakistani Rangers DG Maj Gen Burki and BSF DG D K Pathak concluded the two-day level talks to ease tension along the LoC and the global Border (IB). The adviser argued economic and political stability were prerequisites to a balanced foreign policy.
Pointing out that Shah was arrested on a specific tip-off, sources said that he had crossed over to Pakistan in 2004 and returned to this side only three years ago.
“People are happy over the ongoing targeted operation in Karachi”, he said adding it will continue till the elimination of last criminal elements.
He said the next phase in the National Action Plan (NAP) is the reforms of “Madaris”. To a question about relations with Afghanistan, he said Pakistan was trying to restore Afghan reconciliation process between the Afghan Taliban and the government in Kabul.
