Pakistan women cricket team to face Bangladesh in first T20 on Wednesday
The women teams will play two T20 and two ODI matches at National Cricket Stadium in Karachi.
Bangladesh women’s cricket captain Salma Khatun said Tuesday her players feel “comfortable” in Pakistan as they prepare for a series, even though most foreign teams have shunned the conflict-racked country for years. Pakistan will take on Bangladesh in their opening T20 worldwide on Wednesday at 10am.
“We are here to play cricket and are comfortable”, she said at the launch of the series that will be played entirely in the southern city of Karachi.
Sana said majority of the people will be watching women cricket for the first time.
“We were looking for this tour for long time and finally it was happening”, she said, adding that one can not compare Pakistan’s men team with women’s.
“Pakistan is a good team as they got a few good batters and bowlers”, she added.
Khatun said that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had thrown the ball into their court and wanted them to make their own decision.
With their arrival, Bangladesh became the first country to have sent their national women’s team to Pakistan after 2006.
Sana Mir-led Pakistan defeated Bangladesh in a nail-biting finish at the Incheon Asian Games final past year.
In meantime Bang;adesh underwent s strenuous three hour training session at the venue while Pakistan team have one-hour training session in the afternoon.
