The Indian quad copter was shot down in Rakh Chakri sector of the LoC, the de-facto border between the countries, the Pakistan Army said.
“Indian Navy categorically denies the statement of Pakistani Navy as blatant lies”, Navy spokesperson Captain D K Sharma said.
The Indian soldiers shelled villages in Khuiratta, Bhimber and Chakothi sector near Muzaffarabad, the Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) said.
The statement explained that “Pakistan Navy fleet units detected the presence of Indian submarines in the southern parts of Pakistani waters, mimiced their behaviour and restricted their activity”. The diplomatic and military standoff continues even as India and Pakistan are presented with the possibility of a high-level engagement early December on the sidelines of the Afghanistan-related Heart of Asia conference.
Pakistan has said India is escalating tension to divert the world community’s attention from its human rights violations in Indian-controlled Kashmir, and says its army responds with restraint when under attack.
“Like thousands of others, I’m lying here under the open sky with five children and my wife, with no arrangements for food and shelter, ” Hussain said by phone.
Yesterday, Pakistani troops had resorted to firing in Balnoie area of Mendhar sector without any casualty.
“Our troops are giving a befitting response”, the spokesman said.
However, escalation between the two bitter neighbors has been seen since militants attacked an army center in the Indian-controlled Kashmir in September. Both claim the Himalayan territory in full and have fought two wars over the mountainous region.
Ambassador Lodhi called on the United Nations chief and the Security Council as the custodians of global peace and security to take note of the continued ceasefire violations by India that pose a real danger to regional peace and security.
