Pakistani terrorist Naved to be shifted to New Delhi today
They said Naved might undergo narco test in the national capital as he was frequently changing his statements before the NIA during interrogation.
National Investigation Agency (NIA) chief Sharad Kumar will personally interrogate LeT’s Pakistani terrorist Mohammed Naveed Yakub, captured after Wednesday’s attack on a BSF convoy, who has been remanded in the custody of the anti-terror agency by a Jammu court.
The duo, related to each other, said that though they faced threats to their lives, they were not bothered as service to the nation was supreme.
“It was a great thing for us that we could do something small for the security of our motherland”, said Vikramjit. The youths did not think for their own life when they grabbed Naveed’s AK-47, pinned him to ground and disarmed him while he was readying himself to attack the forces.
“Recognizing the fearless act of two civilians in nabbing the Pakistani terrorist on August 5 from the forest of village Chirdi in Udhampur district, the Jammu and Kashmir Police issued appointment orders, besides recommending them for prestigious Shaurya Chakra award”, an official spokesman said here.
While Naveed’s accomplice was killed in the gunfight with BSF troopers, he managed to escape to Samroli, 15 km from the attack site on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. He was taken on that route and asked to identify the houses where he had stayed before he landed in Udhampur. The duo, who were brought here from Jammu, were given a financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each.
The police suggested the two be conferred the Shaurya Chakra and that it be announced on the eve of Independence Day. “If a movie is made on the incident, I would like to play the role of both Sharma and Vikramjit”, the actor said.
