Palestinian attacker killed after ramming car into Israelis

Ramallah: Israeli forces have killed more than 140 Palestinians, including over two dozen children, amid rising tensions between Palestinians and Israeli forces in the occupied territories.

A Palestinian was shot and killed after he allegedly drove his auto into Israeli forces near a military checkpoint in the north of the occupied West Bank on Thursday, the Israeli army said.

According to the Palestine Liberation Organization, the Tel Aviv regime also renewed over 650 administrative detention orders this year, over half of which during the last three months.

The four separate incidents came as revelers were gathering in the West Bank city of Bethlehem for Christmas celebrations, festivities that are being dampened by the latest outburst of violence. At least 131 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire, 90 of them identified by Israel as assailants.

An Israeli civilian stabbed by a Palestinian in an attack earlier this month and a Palestinian in Gaza wounded in a stone-throwing clash with Israeli soldiers, also died of their wounds in hospital this week.

Since the violence erupted at the start of October, 137 Palestinians, 20 Israelis, an American and an Eritrean have been killed, according to an AFP count.
