Palestinian attempts to ram Israelis, is shot dead
Israel says the violence is a result of a Palestinian campaign of lies and incitement.

Nearly daily stabbings, shootings and car-rammings by Palestinians have killed 19 Israelis and a US citizen since October.
The 23-year-old received a bullet in the chest during clashes between camp residents and Israeli forces trying to break into the facility.
“Three (Israeli) casualties were taken from the scene, two with multiple stab wounds and another with a gunshot wound, apparently from the police fire to neutralise the terrorists”, a police statement said.
Wednesday Israeli police shot and killed two Palestinians who stabbed Israeli pedestrians outside Jerusalem’s Old City.
There has been an upsurge in violence between Israelis and Palestinians in the past three months.
Three Israelis were injured and three of their assailants killed in three separate terror attacks in the West Bank.
A court official said security had been stepped up outside the home of a judge presiding over the case, and postings on social media accused him of failing to stop the Shin Bet, Israel’s domestic security service, mistreating the suspects.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the video “horrifying”, saying it showed “the real face of a group that represents a danger to Israeli society and Israeli security”. The agency claimed most of the suspects were students at Abu Dis university in the West Bank who were recruited by Hamas operatives. The body says that the circumstances surrounding several of the Palestinian deaths over the past weeks remain disputed.
Palestinians seek diplomatic and economic recognition for their independent state on the territories of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, partially occupied by Israel, and the Gaza Strip.
