Palestinian killed as Israeli forces mount undercover raid Hebron hospital
According to Jehad, Shawar, director of Hebron’s al-Ahly hospital, at around 3AM on Thursday morning between 20 and 30 men arrived at the clinic in two mini vans posing as Palestinian men accompanying a woman in a wheelchair who was pretending to be pregnant.
While al-Sharawi’s family said their mother was on her way to lunch at a relative’s home, Amnesty stated that even if she had planned to carry out an attack, “the imminent danger had passed and accordingly … the use of lethal force was unlawful”. Reports said two Israeli settlers were killed in violent clashes in al-Khalil. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to hunt down the attackers. No further details were immediately available.
A total of 14 Israelis have been killed in Palestinian attacks since mid-September, mostly by being stabbed, while 79 Palestinians have been killed, including 50 who Israel says were involved in attacks.
A security operation is under way around the Palestinian village of Yatta, near Otniel, as Israeli forces search for the attacker.
Abdullah, Azzam’s cousin, was the 80th Palestinian to be killed since October 1 in the latest wave of violence to hit the region, according to the Palestinian Maan news agency. Palestinians say the violence is due to a lack of hope for gaining independence. This had erupted during a funeral for another Palestinian who had died of wounds overnight following clashes at a funeral on Thursday, Palestinian medics said.
Medical sources told Palestinian news site Maan that 23-year-old university student Hassan Jihad Albu was killed by a bullet straight to the chest, which penetrated his heart and killed him instantly.
The United States State Department said European Union guidelines requiring the labeling of settlement goods is not tantamount to a boycott.
“What I have found actually since leaving the Quartet role is that it’s been easier to have conversations in complete frankness with people”.

A cousin of the wanted man was killed during the sweep.
Eight minutes later, footage showed the agents with guns drawn leaving with someone else in a wheelchair, presumably the suspect.
