Palestinians killed in clash with Israeli troops
The Israeli military said troops entered Qalandia to demolish the home of a Palestinian who the army says shot and killed an Israeli motorist in the West Bank this summer.
The drive-by shooting recalled an attack in early October, when Palestinian gunmen killed an Israeli couple travelling with their four children in the northern West Bank.
Yusra Haj-Hamad, 32, the sister of one of the accused attackers, Yehiya, said dozens of soldiers had surrounded their home after midnight, bursting in and ordering everyone out as they drilled holes for the explosives.
The military said the “terrorist fled the scene” after the attack and that troops were searching the area.
Further raising tensions, security camera footage emerged Thursday showing Israeli special forces disguised as Palestinian civilians raiding a hospital to arrest a Palestinian the military said had seriously wounded an Israeli in a knife attack.
On the Palestinian side 81 people have died, including one Israeli Arab. Many have been alleged attackers but they have also included protesters shot in clashes with the army.
Last month, the Israeli government ordered an intensification of punitive home demolitions in response to a wave of stabbing and shooting attacks and other deadly unrest.
Israel’s Jerusalem District Court indicted 13-year-old Manasra on charges of attempted murder on Oct 30 following an attack on two Israelis on Oct 12.
Israel has responded to the most recent spate of violence with harsh security measures, including reverting to the controversial policy of demolishing the homes of Palestinians accused of serious crimes.

Near Hebron, mourners carried the body of Hassan Jihad al-Baw, 23, whowas shot in the heart on Friday in the town of Halhul and killed immediately, medics told Ma’an at the time.
While talking to the emergency dispatcher, Litman’s 16-year-old son said, “There are two wounded here, but we have the Red Crescent with us”.
