Palestinians stab soldier, killed by troops
Two Palestinians have been fatally shot after stabbing an Israeli soldier near the city of Nablus in the West Bank, local media reported on Sunday.
Holiday signs have been banned at an intersection in the little town of Bethlehem, New York.
An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed that an attack had occurred in the area and local witnesses told Ma’an that two Palestinians were shot and killed by Israeli forces following the attack.
The Israeli military said that hundreds of Palestinians had gathered near the border and were trying to damage the fence by hurling rocks and rolling burning tires at it, and to prevent infiltration, soldiers opened fire at the main instigators.
The attack took place in west Jerusalem near the city’s central bus station, where large numbers of soldiers catch buses each Sunday morning back to their bases after a sabbath break at home.
The incident, in Huwara in the northern West Bank, was the second of the day. Then he pulled out a knife and tried to stab one of them. Police officers spokeswoman Luba Samri stated in that on Saturday, officers had approached a human being they viewed as suspicious.
20 Israelis have also been killed.
Al-Jabi was critically injured and evacuated by Palestinian medics to the Rafidiya hospital in Nablus where he died shortly from gunshot wounds to the jaw and neck.
Israel has blamed Palestinians for the outbreak of violence.
Twenty-one Israelis and one US citizen were killed since the current wave of ongoing violence started in October, in lone wolf stabbing, car-ramming and shooting attacks perpetrated by Palestinians.
Palestinian leaders say a younger generation sees no hope for the future living under Israeli security restrictions and with a stifled economy.
