Vega said the Miss Universe organisation works independently from its owners and has helped thousands of communities over the last 64 years.
The network continued, “Because of this, we reject the xenophobic and offensive statements by the owner of the Miss Universe pageant against our Mexican brothers and sisters, and therefore, against all Latin Americans”. He also added that the billionaire would make no money from the telecast as per the deal details at the current moment. “It was definitely hard to hear some of [Trump’s] comments, but I think that this is a great opportunity for Latinos to rise up and prove themselves”.

Hubbard, who is based in Albuquerque, N.M., but maintains a St. Paul office, said the acquisition should in no way be interpreted as a sign of support for Trump, who has announced his candidacy for president in June.
