Panther Island Ice Returns for the Holidays
Panther Island Ice will open for the holiday season on November 20 and operate through January 18, 2016.
Led by the Arctic Edge Ice Arena and Blazers Ice Centre professional staff, the class includes two 25 minute small group sessions, skate rental if needed, and a session ticket to practice on the Devon Ice Rink immediately following the participant’s lesson. Hit the ice on Friday nights for Rock “n” Skate with a live DJ from 6 to 9 p.m. Food and drink will be served outdoors at the rink throughout the season, or skaters can dine indoors at the Park House for lunch or dinner every day of the week.
Panther Island Ice, which features real ice, will be open seven days a week including holidays such as Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Our 600sqm ice rink sits next to the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium connected by EE and adjacent to London Designer Outlet.
Wendi Schuur, director of Community Relations for Devon, said the company is pleased to sponsor the ice rink. The organization hopes to provide free opportunities for children who might not otherwise be able to try ice sports – which Shipstad said “offer something for everyone”, from the artistic to the athletic or analytical.
“The City of Chicago is doing a great thing offering this programming”, she said.
