Panthers LB Davis not worried about broken arm in Super Bowl
“So we are excited about that possibility”.
Davis broke his right forearm in the first half of the NFC Championship Game victory against Arizona, and had surgery Monday night. While obviously unable to fully participate in practive less than a week after surgery, Davis still comes to the field for a little while before going into the Panthers training facility to work on conditioning. If Thomas has anything to say about it, that is. “I have no doubt that, that as long as everything continues to heal like it’s supposed to, he’ll be out there”. According to Davis’ wife Kelly, he underwent surgery early Monday in Charlotte still determined to play against the Broncos. “You can’t do anything, ‘” Davis said.
Davis had six tackles and two tackles for loss before leaving. He had several jarring hits that set the tone for the Panthers to build a 17-0 lead. He suffered the injury during the second quarter of the NFC title game and did not return.
Rivera deferred to doctors when asked if there were concerns that Davis could reinjure the arm should he play against the Broncos.
Davis made it clear the Panthers’ season is meaningless without a win in the 19th game of the season. They forced Carson Palmer into four interceptions and forced two fumbles in an impressive defensive performance.
“I think he’s one of those young men that if at all possible, he’s playing. I can guarantee you that”.
Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis, Sr.is a tough guy. “I don’t put it past Thomas”, Short said. He has missed out on a lot of his career due to similar injuries, including tearing the same ACL three times, so it’s not hard to understand the frustration leading up to the biggest game of his career.
