Panthers WR Benjamin injures left knee
Benjamin was carted off the field with an apparent left knee injury during Wednesday’s practice, Jeff Zell of WCCB Sports reports.
The injury, which came in non-contact fashion, appears to be to the same knee that Delmas had surgically reconstructed less than 10 months ago.
The Panthers and Dolphins are holding joint practice sessions together Wednesday and Thursday.
The Panthers will host the Dolphins in their first preseason home game on Saturday in Charlotte. Clearly if the injury is serious it will have a huge impact on the Panthers’ season as Benjamin is the best weapon at Newton’s disposal on offense. Benjamin was carted off the field. During his rookie season in 2014, Benjamin caught 73 passes for 1,008 yards and nine touchdowns.
Marc Dopher watched Benjamin go down and said he was shaken up as he was taken to the locker room.
