Parents overdose in their 7-month-old baby’s Children’s Hospital room
Cincinnati police say they are investigating an overdose incident that happened at Cincinnati’s Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
However, she said this case is especially hard. Their seven-month-old child was being treated at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
The couple was identified as Mary Ann and Wesley Landers.
Mary Ann had a gun too, police say. Another two syringes were nearby on the bathroom counter, documents state.
EMS worker Tony Houston said at the time that with so many of them, they’re afraid that they won’t be able to make it to all of them.
Family friends say they had no idea either parent did drugs. “I don’t know if they had received some bad news or, really I don’t know”, Greenhaw Whitworth said. It’s not yet known why the child was receiving treatment.
“Particularly in stressful situations – that which your child being in the hospital is extremely stressful – in those stressful situations, the way that people who are addicted calm themselves is to use the drug”, she said. He was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and revived, according to Local12 and WCPO. Wesley Landers is charged with drug possession, carrying a concealed weapon and having a weapon under disability – meaning he was not allowed to carry a gun due to an earlier conviction.
