Parma are selling off all their trophies after being declared bankrupt
Everything must go! The entrance to Parma FC’s training ground.
How would a UEFA Cup look in Buckingham Palace? Football fans now have the opportunity to get their hands on a slice of sporting history as debt-ridden Parma FC sells off all its assets – including trophies.
Official administrators Angelo Anedda and Alberto Guiotto have put the following trophies up for sale: three Coppa Italias won in 1992, 1999 and 2002, the Cup Winners’ Cup from 1993, the 1994 European Super Cup, the Uefa Cups of 1995 and 1999 and the 1999 Italian Super Cup.
It’s not just the trophies that are up for grabs either.
Creditors representing Parma Football Club, which went bankrupt last season, are seeking to recoup as much money from the now defunct club as possible by selling their silverware.
“The items, including trophies, sports equipment, the audio-video archive and the trademark “Parma FC” are listed on the bankruptcy inventory on the website www.fallimentiparma.com”.
Whoever makes the highest bid will have a month to pay off the balance, with a deposit of ten percent owed before the bid will be considered.
With the original club dissolved with debts running into hundreds of millions of euros and it’s successor Parma Calcio 1913 relegated to Italy’s Serie D, the once proud club has been brought to its knees.
