Parrot repeats chilling phrases family believes were spoken by son, his killer
Duram’s parents says it gives them chills to hear Bud mimic what they believe are their son’s last words and to think the bird may have actually witnessed their son’s murder.
A MI prosecutor says he’ll review a family’s claims that a pet parrot may have mimicked a murder victim’s last words, but says they could be a flight of fancy.
Mr Martin Duram, 45, was fatally shot at his home on 128th Street and his wife Glenna, who suffered a gunshot wound to her head, survived.
The bird is reportedly squawking “Don’t f***ing shoot!” in a voice that sounds eerily like his late owner’s, – who pulled the trigger in May 2015.

The bird, named Bud, was apparently heard reciting, “Don’t f– shoot” in a video taken by family members a few weeks after Durham died, Wood TV reports.
The parents of a man murdered a year ago believe their son’s parrot holds the information needed to solve the case.
Judges usually ask witnesses to raise their right hand, but “to a parrot, are you raising a wing, a foot?” he added.
Michigan State Police, the Newaygo County prosecutor’s office and Glenna Duram did not immediately respond to ABC News’ requests for comment.
Keller agrees, “I don’t think he would be able to help the case”, she said.
But Springstead said he hasn’t heard it.
His ex-wife, Christina Keller, now owns Bud, an African grey parrot.
“I know for a fact I didn’t kill my husband”, police quoted her as saying. Glenna also left three suicide notes before the shooting happened.
It’s uncertain if authorities have seen the said video, or if the parrot’s utterances are even admissible in court as evidence. Springstead said Duram’s appeared not to be self-inflicted.
But in an interview with police after she recovered, she denied killing him, saying she remembered nothing until she was in the hospital.
