Pasco Elementary School Evacuated
Officials on Friday investigated at least five bomb threats called into MA schools, including Arlington Catholic High School, Chelsea High School, Boston College High School, Bourne High School and two middle schools in Weymouth.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset police said: “We have been made aware of threats made at four schools in Bristol today”. The Worcester County school district twitter account tweeted about the threat, and evacuation, this morning.
An investigation determined the threat was false and no threat to the school or students, and that the boy had no intention of acting upon his threat, detectives said.
Parents were notified this morning that the school’s administration received a bomb threat to the building, and under the direction of the supervisor of school security and as a precautionary measure, the school building was evacuated and students were moved to William Winchester Elementary School, according to a notice sent to parents. Students were dismissed from class just past 10 a.m. Arlington Police say the threat is not thought to be credible, but they are taking all precautions necessary.
According to the Taunton Police Department, Taunton Public Schools received “a spate of threatening automated phone messages” over the past several days.
Ryan said that law enforcement concluded the threat had “low credibility” but that Bodie chose to shut down for the day given that the threat talked about targeting students. The voicemail was retrieved Tuesday morning before school started.
Officials are now on scene and said students are safe.
