Passengers removed from flight at BWI Marshall Airport
The flight attendant notified the captain, who chose to return the plane to the gate. Those four people, three men and one woman, appeared to be in their early 30s, were of Middle Eastern decent and had backpacks, Kennedy said on Twitter.
Citing flight-tracking data, the Post said Flight 2124 left National two hours late at 5:30 p.m., and arrived at the Logan global Airport gate at 6:43 p.m.
“We are interviewing the four individuals to see if any violations occurred”, Green told The Washington Times.
Tension and fear are running high after the brutal terrorist attacks by ISIS in Paris last week and there was a brief but unfounded scare on a Chicago-bound plane this morning. Four passengers were removed from the flight for reasons as yet unclear.
According to a statement from the airline, a passenger alerted the flight crew to a few suspicious activity. The newspaper quoted Sgt. Jonathan Green, a spokesman for the Maryland Transportation Authority, which patrols the Baltimore/Washington global Thurgood Marshall Airport, as explaining that the woman grabbed her young daughter and rushed to the back of the plane, where she reported the man’s “suspicious behavior”. Then officials returned to remove the fourth person.
“What prompted them, that’s all part of the investigation right now”, he said. “There are a lot of thoughts going on in your mind at that point….about what may happen”, said Gavin MacPhee, another passenger onboard the Washington-Boston flight.
