Their beliefs and values don’t always line up with ours, but their need for safety is more than real. Matthew 4:7: “It is also written; Do not put the Lord your God to the test”.
The Word of God confirms this in Isaiah 26:3, “You will keep him in flawless peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you”.
“Come”, he replied, “and you will see”. He knew what the Father had sent Him to accomplish and He simply spent his days going about that work. It was about four in the afternoon.
Peter, James and John met God on the Mount of Transfiguration. His friends bring him to Jesus to be healed. He saw Philip invite Nathaniel to come away to meet Jesus, the Messiah. “You will be called Cephas” (which, when translated, is Peter). We neither add to God’s word or take from it. When Jesus was born, the one true living God became a human in the person of Jesus. That is why it’s important to know what is in the Bible, so we can be like Jesus. If not for staying with Him, they would not have made the confession that they had seen the Messiah. So know that, wherever you are, if you believe in Him and invite him in, He will be with you. He will talk to you and wake you up in the morning. I am the vine, you are the branches.
At the Lord’s baptism His Father spoke from heaven and said, “This is My Son in whom I am well pleased”. “Jesus, who though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God…but made himself nothing…he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross”.
Judaism was a breakthrough as the one true living God initiated communication with Abraham and promised to bless the world through him.
