Pathankot Attack: Pakistan says working on “Leads” provided by India
“It seems all the militants have been neutralised but the combing operations are continuing to see if there are any remaining militants”.
“Pathankot air base attack has been carried out by the mujahideen associated with National Highway Squad”, said Syed Sadaqat Hussain, a spokesman for the UJC.
Indian forces have killed the last of the six militants who attacked an air force base near the Pakistan border over the weekend, the defence minister said Tuesday, though soldiers were still searching the base as a precaution.
“Why is the prime minister giving a new description of terrorists as “enemies of humanity” instead of describing them as Pakistani terrorists?”
China on Monday condemned the attack on the Pathankot air base, and hoped that it will fail in its objective of disrupting the new momentum in India-Pakistan ties.
The Congress also criticised the government for not convening a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) to assess the situation.
Pakistan Foreign Office has issued a statement in which they have assured that Pakistan is working on the evidences that India has provided. After that, the NSAs (of India and Pakistan) met in Bangkok.
The Sharif-Modi telephonic conversation followed the killing of all six terrorists believed to be from Pakistan after they attacked the Indian Air Force base early on Saturday, leaving seven security personnel dead. Post Mumbai terror attack, he said a dialogue should begin only after Pakistan keeps its promises.
“In the midst of the operation, the Congress criticism is unfortunate”. Both premiers are resolved to fight terrorism together, an aide also said. National Security Adviser Ajit Doval’s China visit was put off in wake of the attack on the Pathankot air base.
“The previous UPA regime’s approach towards terrorism was casual whereas the present government is active and visible”.
“We can not inform whether there are more militants or not”, said Manish Mehta, an Indian army spokesperson.
