Patrick Kane’s driver talks about night of alleged assault
Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane was driven home from a bar by an off-duty Buffalo police officer the night of the alleged rape, according to The Buffalo News.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity Monday because authorities have not revealed any details of the investigation being conducted by Hamburg police.
Kane is being investigated for an incident that allegedly happened with a woman at his waterfront home in Hamburg, N.Y., on August 2.
Following recent sexual assault allegations against Patrick Kane, EA Sports has pulled the Chicago Blackhawks right winger from the cover of National Hockey League 16.
Lieutenant English told the news he is a long-time family friend of Kane’s and was with Kane the entire time they were at Skybar.
The accusations against Kane have prompted an online debate about the media’s rape coverage, with accusations of victim shaming, some aimed at the News.
English and Kane reportedly had a long-standing relationship prior to that night as well, with English working as Kane’s personal driver on his off-time as a cop.
The Buffalo News reported earlier this week multiple sources said the alleged victim was at Kane’s house due to her friend encouraging her to go. “That there couldn’t possibly be any rape because she was all over him”.
