Patrick’s day with parade

The 61th annual Newport Saint Patrick’s Day Parade was also held on Saturday in Newport, R.I.

St. Patrick’s Day, which commemorates the date of death for the man credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland, is officially observed March 17. You can see participants wearing green along the parade route and it wouldn’t be a party without some music and traditional Irish dancing.

Thousands lined the streets of Midtown Atlanta for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

The parade included the New Castle County Mounted Patrol Unit’s Clydesdale horses, along with Irish step dancers, bag pipers, and much more.

“But it’s a good experience to embrace”, said one parade goer. Many of them were bundled up because of the cold, but they didn’t let the weather stop them.

Kurre said the smiles and laughs never get old.

“The community is just overwhelmed by it”, Cull said, not just by the parade but the Irish spirit itself.

2017 marks the 114th anniversary of the Galway St. Patrick’s Day Parade and you can expect a wonderful spectacle of all things Irish.
