PATRICK STEWART Says He’s ‘Done’ With X-MEN Movies
But Jackman hasn’t had as much luck with his solo outings.
Imagine this: Jackman and Stewart say farewell to the X-Men franchise with a film that’s just awful.
Patrick Stewart, who played Professor Charles Xavier alongside Jackman since 2000, agreed. Furthermore, he expressed his gratitude to all his fans who patronized his Wolverine movies.
Mangold also talked about explaining the film’s gore to the studio, stating that: “I said I wanted it R. First of all, the studios are not stupid, and they recognize that they’ve been making…”
How it’s a very personal movie and how he can’t believe they got to make it.
He may be Wolverine, but Logan is a perfectly imperfect superhero. Alcohol becomes a new way for Wolverine to heal. It’s arguable that X-23 is the best part of “Logan”, showing Jackman’s devotion to telling the best Wolverine story he could without demanding all the glory be sent his way.
But in softer moments, characters read about themselves in comic-books and covet floral sunglasses.
Logan also has an “R” rating for the use of strong language and gore, which I personally thought it could do without. The professor needs to take the medicine in order to reduce the amount of seizures he has as he loses control of his telepathic abilities. “I wasn’t able to see him last night”.
All of this plays out like some sort of Wolverine Western, which is an incredibly clever genre exercise that would feel even more clever if it didn’t feel the need to constantly bring back cowboy motifs. “It’s such that there are deliberate parallels.” stated Hugh Jackman. This one’s a gripping finale to Wolverine’s indomitable journey.
Hot on their heels is Donald Pierce (a menacing Boyd Holbrook) and his Reavers, a group of mercenaries with prosthetic limbs, who would really like to get their robotic mitts on the girl. “Logan”, directed by James Mangold, is – no exaggeration – thoroughly excellent, bringing not only our hero with the Adamantium claws into the real world of adult choices and consequences, but possibly raising the whole Marvel Universe game along with it.
