Patriots not panicking following 2 losses after 10 straight wins
Oh, and as for the goofy high-five with Rob Gronkowski during practice, Edelman cracked, “Me and Gronk have a high-fiving thing”.
But just the sight of both players working, even on a limited basis, has to be terrific news for a Patriots team that has fallen to the AFC’s No. 3 seed with two straight losses and a tough game ahead. Gronkowski missed last week with a knee injury after suffering the injury against the Broncos and he likely will be out for Week 14. Belichick replied, “We’ll list on the injury report whatever his situation is”. Clearly, having Gronkowski back would help New England deal with JJ Watt, former Patriots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork and the rest of the Texans defense on Sunday night.
It was Edelman’s first appearance on a practice field in front of reporters since breaking a bone in his foot in the first half of the win over the Giants at MetLife Stadium on November 15. “Thanks, buddy”, he said.
It doesn’t appear as though the Patriots will have their key weapon on offense back against the Texans on Sunday Night Football this weekend.
Edelman leads the Patriots with 61 catches.
“I’m doing everything I can to get better every single day”, Gronkowski said. Gronkowski is second with 57 receptions.
“He still has to be cleared by one more doctor”, Jets coach Todd Bowles said of Revis.
