Patriots Playoffs Game Set for January 16
It was scored on a 2-yard run by Steven Jackson – his first TD since joining New England on Dec 22.
Brady had an MRI exam on Monday morning and ESPN’s Adam Schefter cited team sources that the test revealed no breaks or fractures and is expected to be ready for the first playoff game.
The good news is it seems like those players may be ready in time for the playoffs, which at the end of the day is the bigger prize.
At the close of the 2015 regular season, the New England Patriots finished 12-4, losing four of their last six, limping to the second seed and narrowly avoiding losing their star quarterback.
“Teams are no longer afraid to play the Patriots”, Harrison said on NBC’s Football Night in America, where he is an analyst.
“I didn’t see the replay”, Brady said. “This time of year is about how you play, not who you play or where you play or any of that”.
“I told the players I’m committed to winning Super Bowls”, Ross said. But more upsetting to the Patriots was the possibility that his injury could affect him when they return to play Cincinnati, Houston or Kansas City on January 16.
-Linebacker Dont’a Hightower (knee) was inactive in Miami after failing to finish the previous two games to the injury. In terms of health, they are not in the best of shape, and in terms of performance, they have not been playing particularly strong football as of late.
Patriots coach Bill Belichick walks on the sideline during the third quarter.
“It wasn’t the season we wanted to have”, Tannehill said, “but you get to leave with a good taste in your mouth, and that’s what we wanted”.
-Tackle LaAdrian Waddle (shoulder) did not play or even dress for the finale after going through a pregame workout due to the injury suffered in the second half a week earlier against the Jets, which was his debut in a Patriots uniform. “We’ll see how it goes this week”. All three have had incredibly solid seasons and have enabled the Patriots to fill part of the void Vince Wilfork left, replace Revis, and ease up on Ninkovich and Jones at the defensive end spots. After establishing the run in the first half, the Patriots attempted to utilize play-action passes to generate more explosive plays down the field but coverage by Neville Hewitt Tony Lippett and others prevented them from doing so.
The Dolphins broke a 10-10 tie in the fourth quarter when Ryan Tannehill lofted a 2-yard TD pass to Jordan Cameron with 6:58 remaining.
Tom Brady’s injury sustained against the Miami Dolphins in Week 17 doesn’t appear to be too serious. The Patriots ran for 62 yards in the first half.
Rob Gronkowski was not targeted in the first half and New England at one point went to a running back on 18 straight plays, two of which were passes.
