Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski to undergo back surgery
After a hit early in the Jets game, Rob began to experience significant back and leg pain. This isn’t Gronk’s first rodeo, and he certainly isn’t new to the herniated disc surgery he underwent Friday, as he’s had the same procedure twice before, one in college in 2009 and once in 2012.
When Brady was reminded that the Patriots have struggled at times without Gronkowski, he said, “Past performance doesn’t indicate future results”. Teams can press up and force Brady to try to throw over the top of them. That being said, Belichick’s offense has thrived off a two tight end set, especially in red zone opportunities.

But now Brady must make things work with Bennett, who is also battling injuries, minus Gronkowski. Gronkowski underwent back surgery in Los Angeles on Friday, posting on social media that the surgery was successful and he was starting rehab.
The Rams are heavy underdogs for Sunday’s game at New England, but at least they can stop game-planning for Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. Unfortunately, Gronkowski is also injury prone, and his latest ailment has many wondering if the Days of Gronk could be coming to an end in Foxboro.

It’s been an injury-shortened season for the Patriots’ all-time touchdown receptions leader, as he missed the first two games with a hamstring injury, before sitting out in Week 11 with a punctured lung.
Gronkowski finishes with 25 catches for 540 yards and three touchdowns in his seventh season with the Patriots.
“I feel pretty good”, Bennett said approximately an hour before the news about Gronkowski broke.
Gronkowski is in the midst of a stellar season where he’s been a consistent downfield threat for the Patriots with a career-high and league-leading 21.6 yards per reception.
