Patriots’ wide out Aaron Dobson exits with ankle injury against Bills
In the absence of Edelman, the Patriots are relying on Amendola to not only fill in as the slot receiver, but be the Patriots’ primary target in the short passing game.
So, who will Tom Brady be throwing to on Sunday night in Denver?
Amendola was cast as the No. 1 receiver on Monday because Julian Edelman is out with a foot injury.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, whose verbiage in the shotgun or under center while running the team’s offense has been well documented over the years, added a different twist to his calls for Monday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills.
The Patriots really struggled in this department throughout the entire game on Monday, as the only real bright spot was Danny Amendola, and even he went down with a knee injury in the fourth quarter. However, it has become “easy come, easy go” for the Patriots as Amendola has also suffered an injury.
Fellow wide receiver Aaron Dobson, who suffered an ankle injury, was not at the walkthrough.
“I don’t think that’s an excuse”. LeGarrett Blount put up 56 yards off 16 carries against a tough defensive front while James White was the real star with two touchdowns along with 14 yards rushing and another 32 receiving. “So guys can never get comfortable in the situation”.
“James has been a dependable player for us”, head coach Bill Belichick said, via NFL.com. However, there are no guarantees and other players will need to step up.
