Patterson can’t get mad after one loss in TCU season of adversity
When TCU head coach Gary Patterson took the podium for his weekly press conference on Tuesday, he didn’t give many details about his team’s attitude the day after the loss against Oklahoma State on Saturday. Boykin threw a career-worst four interceptions against Oklahoma State while passing for 445 yards.
The loss coming in the final four weeks of the season hurts that much more, but it’s no secret that the Frogs have an incredibly hard schedule in November, as they will face three current top 15 teams.
Kansas has given up at least 58 points in three straight games and will now face a TCU team that’s second in the nation with 46.7 per game.
Boykin leads FBS with 441 total yards per game, with a TD pass in 24 consecutive games to match the nation’s longest active streak.
“The one thing I will say about our group: they’ve done an unbelievable job fighting through everything that they’ve fought through, to be where we are right now”, Patterson said. “I think it has to do with what people want their opinions to be….”
Last Week’s conclusion wasn’t very pleasing for the TCU Horned Frogs as they’ll look to bounce back this Saturday against a winless Kansas Jayhawks football team.
While the loss to Oklahoma State means the Horned Frogs need a few help to win the Big 12, they are not out of the title picture. The receiver could still be limited in how much he plays as a precaution.
Kansas: Freshman QB Ryan Willis has thrown a touchdown in five consecutive games. He replaced injured junior Montell Cozart, who opted this week for shoulder surgery. “It just isn’t responding like we thought it would”, Beaty said. “We’ve got to be careful to make sure”.
It’s tougher for Patterson to get a read on this team than others he’s had at TCU because this one is so different than the one he expected.
The Horned Frogs will host a depleted Kansas Jayhawks (0-9) football team this weekend at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth. Players will have more time to spend with their families after the early game Saturday.
