Paul George going to Boston Celtics?
Bird is smart enough to know that the East is improving around them and that the time is up to win under Paul George.
It’s not all about offense with George.
Crabbe is in the first season of a 4-year, $75 million contract that includes a trade kicker, while Davis is in the second season of a 3-year, $20 million contract. Now, that team has at most two years to assemble a championship worthy team around that player before the team loses the ability to compete. Just three of those – James, Paul and Howard – were also all-defensive team selections. Durant chose to join the Golden State Warriors. Probably not. That leaves finding a superstar in the draft, which is hard to do.
George still has dreams of being bigger than Reggie Miller, of giving this franchise its first National Basketball Association championship and one day seeing his jersey up in the Bankers Life Fieldhouse rafters. “He’s one of the best”. He informed George last fall that a max deal is his if he wants it.
Since All-Star Weekend ended, George has popped up in trade rumors with teams like the Los Angeles Lakers.
Shortly after news of Paul George considering signing with the Lakers, a story has broken about the Lakers angling to acquire the Pacers star right now.
In an interview with ESPN’s Marc Stein over the All-Star Break, George stopped short of saying he would accept a contract extension with IN when his deal is up IN 2018.
It seems like Johnson is trying to get some type of return for some of the veteran players that may not be on the roster next season.
And now it appears, trade talks are getting even more serious. It remains to be seen, though, whether or not the Pacers will find an enticing deal before the deadline. That haul never really amounted to much team success for the Nuggets, but at least they made certain they didn’t lose perhaps their most talented player ever for nothing.
