Paul Pierce comes home to Los Angeles to play for Clippers
The team has also added Lance Stephenson and Paul Pierce since the end of the season, meaning there will be more competition for minutes on the peremiter with the Clippers this season.
Free-agent guard Austin Rivers has agreed to a two-year contract to return to the Clippers, Yahoo Sports reported Sunday.
Rivers was the 10th overall pick in the 2012 draft but has yet to live up to the lofty expectations that come about when a player is drafted that high.
He helped Boston win the 2008 National Basteball Association title and was named MVP of the finals when Rivers was coaching the Celtics.
ESPN reports that Pierce was a part of the small group that Rivers assembled to visit DeAndre Jordan in Houston on Wednesday. The 17-year National Basteball Association veteran holds career averages of 20.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 1,250 games (1,240 starts) with the Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets and Wizards and is currently ranked 16th in National Basteball Association history with 25,899 total points scored. This week, Only A Game analyst Charlie Pierce and Bill Littlefield discuss the merit of verbal agreements in the NBA’s free agency period.
As said by Doc Rivers, Pierce’s 18 years in the National Basteball Association played an instrumental role in that particular situation.
Is Doc Rivers having a great week or what?
