Paul Reubens Joins ‘Gotham’ as Penguin’s Dad
Daddy’s coming home! We know plenty about the somewhat twisted relationship between Penguin, aka Oswald Cobblepot and his mother Gertrude in the TV show Gotham.
Taylor himself announced to the eager crowd at the convention that none other than the legendary Paul Reubens is going to play his father in an upcoming episode (at least) of the Fox series. He first played Tucker Cobblepot opposite Danny DeVito’s Penguin in 1992’s “Batman Returns”.

Penguin has a father, and it’s one we’ve seen before…albeit not in this universe.
According to Variety, Robin Lord Taylor, who portrays the character of The Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot in the series, just couldn’t contain his excitement regarding the casting, and made a decision to share it with the world. We just found out that I do have a father.
Reubens’ confirmation that he will be appearing on Gotham in this capacity has ruled out speculation that Marilyn Manson could take the role.
When breaking the big news to the audience at NYCC, Taylor shouted “Pee-Wee Herman is playing my Dad!”
“He will be showing up very soon”, the actor reportedly teased. If you’ve missed any of the new episodes or just need a refresher, be sure to check out our weekly Gotham recaps.
