Paul Walker’s daughter sues Porsche
His daughter, Meadow Walker, now sued Porsche, the automobile manufacturer who made his dad’s vehicle, for an alleged multiple design flaws, which ignited the ride to burn.
Both Walker and professional race-car driver Roger Rodas (38) were found burnt beyond recognition after the sports auto crashed into a concrete lamp post and a tree.
The investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and California Highway Patrol concluded that it was unsafe speed and not mechanical problems that caused the crash.
“Knowing that the Carrera GT had a history of instability and control issues, the company failed to install its electronic stability control system, which they say is specifically created to protect against the swerving actions inherent in hyper-sensitive vehicles of this type”.
The 18-page lawsuit includes a detailed recounting of the crash and contends that the Porsche was traveling 63 to 71 miles per hour when it spun out of control. The auto also lacked adequate side door reinforcement bars and had defective rubber fuel lines, according to the lawsuit.
Meadow’s lawyer, Jeff Milam, told TMZ, “The bottom line is that the Porsche Carrera GT is a risky vehicle”. Porsche has not yet publicly responded to the claims.
“We have not seen the lawsuit and therefore can not comment on its specifics”, said Porsche spokesperson Calvin Kim yesterday.
Walker was in Santa Clarita Valley for a toy drive to benefit his nonprofit and was the passenger in the Porsche Carrera GT that Rodas was driving.
Paul Walker’s unfortunate death came as a huge shock to his family and his fans worldwide.
Walker’s death at the age of 40 led to a temporary halt in production of “Fast & Furious 7“, the latest movie in the successful series about illegal street racing that helped popularize his career. She was unsuccessful. The company came back and said, “Roger Rodas’ death, and all other injuries or damages claimed, were the result of Roger Rodas’ own comparative fault”. Legal professionals for Meadow, 16, claim the Fast & Furious show star survived the impact of the accident still suffered horrifically when he was helplessly trapped contained in the 2005 Carrera GT when it burst in to flames.
