Paul Walker’s father files lawsuit against Porsche
The family of the Paul Walker, of the Fast and Furious fame, has still not given up their pursuit to seek justice for the deceased actor’s death in a road accident in 2013.
The lawsuit cites features included in other pending lawsuits against the automaker over the crash that might have saved the actor’s life, including a stability control system, side-door reinforcements and a breakaway fuel line to help prevent the auto from bursting into flames after a collision. Walker, 40, and the driver, racing pro Roger Rodas, were burned beyond recognition.
While Walker’s daughter, Meadow, filed a lawsuit against Porsche not too long ago, it seems that Walker’s father, Paul Walker III, has joined the fray with a similar lawsuit.
The suit also alleges that the vehicle has a defective seat belt design.
Porsche will undoubtably comment on this claim, so we’ll wait for their response and bring you the latest. Notably, this is now the third lawsuit in this, case taking into account Roger Rodas’ wife Kristine’s complaint against Porsche.
Electronic information retrieved from the burned-out car’s computer systems determined that Rodas was driving at speeds between 80 and 93 miles per hour when the auto slammed into a pole and a tree.
The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday.
Rodas and the “Fast and Furious” actor would be alive but for those alleged defects, the two suits allege.
Paul Walker’s dad is seeking unspecified damages in the lawsuit. In addition, the automaker previously mentioned that the Carrera GT was “altered from its original design”, wasn’t “maintained properly”, and at least two of its tires were nine years old. That investigation was aided by engineers from Porsche, who evaluated the wreckage of the rare vehicle.
