PCB chief Shaharyar Khan optimistic about proposed Indo-Pak series
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Shahryar Khan, who is in Kolkata has urged India not to mix politics with sport and also not deny the fans of both countries to watch a few great cricket. “I hope when I am in Delhi I will congratulate him in advance and will assure him of my cooperation”, Shaharyar said. “But it’s surely a thing that if you don’t accept your signed agreement then definitely I’ll demand for compensation”, he said, ” adding, the series is an agreement but if it does not happen, it’s a reasonable thing to demand compensation”.
“But we will like to know BCCI’s decision by the end of this month so that we can plan ahead”, Khan said, hinting that Pakistan could boycott India at the worldwide level. The Pakistan series so far is in UAE.
“If they don’t honour it (MOU) for political reasons we have options open to us”. We will endure monetary losses and we’ll endure different losses. We have signed on the dotted line that we’ll play it. Now, that is the settlement between us, and I really feel that the BCCI ought to honour that settlement. “We will think about these choices once we will come to that time and we’ve got not come to that time”, he stated. PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan said he had received a reply to his letter sent to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which promised to hold talks on the sidelines of an worldwide Cricket Council (ICC) meeting in Dubai. In Dubai, we’ll confer there and we’ll in all probability determine what’s to be accomplished in future. PCB chairman said the issue of scheduled series between Pakistan and India will also be discussed with new BCCI chief during the visit.
BCCI officials have gone on record in recent weeks saying that a bilateral series with Pakistan was looking increasingly doubtful.
