PD: Gunman dead in Nashville theater shooting

The suspect was later found to be carrying only a pellet gun which looked like a real firearm, Nashville police said on Twitter.

Police Response: Metro Police Chief Don Aaron says officers were working a crash near the theater when some people from the theater ran up to them to notify of the shooting. Also Wednesday, jurors in Colorado were preparing to decide whether James Holmes should be executed for murdering 12 people and trying to kill 70 others in a 2012 attack at a Batman movie.

Police now say the man who attacked moviegoers at a Nashville-area theater was a 29-year-old local man.

“There was dust flying everywhere”, plumber Sean Oliver said.
