Peña Nieto: Trump proposals ‘a real threat’ for Mexico

White House hopeful Donald Trump issued a stern anti-immigration warning after visiting Mexico, saying people who crossed into the United States illegally would never obtain legal status. It has Trump and Hillary Clinton neck and neck when it comes to unfavorable ratings.
Nieto has since said that the first thing he told Trump during the meeting was that Mexico would not pay for the wall.
President Pena Nieto is adamant that Mexico won’t.
On Twitter early on Thursday, Trump wrote, “Mexico will pay for the wall!”
“Donald Trump’s reaction was positive”, he said.
“Wisely, he did not raise the matter of paying for the wall on his first encounter with the Mexican head of state”.
Clinton called Trump’s proposals “un-American” and has said she is willing to continue to accept Syrian refugees who arrive in the US under the stringent screening process already in place.
On the campaign trail, Trump has frequently used derogatory language when referring to Mexicans and other Latin Americans who migrate to the United States, calling them “killers and rapists”.

The fiery speech confirmed Tr ump’s hard line on immigration shortly after he insisted to Pena Nieto that a giant wall would be built on the US-Mexico border if he was elected. That suddenly changed after a surprise, last-minute visit to Mexico last week where he met with President Enrique Peña Nieto to discuss U.S. -Mexico relations.
Pena Nieto has faced a barrage of criticism over his decision to hold talks with Trump, with many accusing him of weakness and humiliation.
Trump said he would also establish a “deportation task force” to identify criminals subject to deportation, would triple the number of federal deportation officers, and increase the number of border patrol stations. “We set up the borders, we control immigration, you levy a charge to come into the country”.
Trump said he has softened his position in a radio interview on Thursday, Washington-based news reporter Politico said on its website.
