‘Peanuts Movie’ a worthy romp
According to Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez, Snoopy will join animated characters like Bugs Bunny, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, the Rugrats, Shrek, The Simpsons, Snow White, Tinker Bell, Winnie- the-Pooh and Woody Woodpecker with stars. “Snoopy, we salute you”.
Monday’s ceremony came in a big week for Schulz’s family and admirers of the Charlie Brown gang.
Driving this particular collection of character vignettes is the arrival of the Little Red-Haired Girl with whom Charlie Brown (pitch-perfectly voiced by 10-year-old Noah Schnapp) is instantly and hopelessly smitten.
The scene also highlights the 3D-animated movie’s “hand-drawn” touches that hark back to Charles M. Schulz’s beloved comic strips – here, the sound effect and the motion lines – which stand in stark contrast to Lucy’s highly detailed textured hair.
Charles’ son, Craig, the writer and producer of “The Peanuts Movie” spoke at 11:30 a.m. the ceremony in 7021 Hollywood Boulevard where the 2,563rd star was unveiled.
