Pebble announces the Time Round, its first circular smartwatch
Like the other watches in the Time range, the Time Round has a microphone for voice actions (which are available when the watch is used with an Android phone and will soon work with iOS too), a 64-color display with backlight, and splash resistance (though it’s not as water resistant as the other models).
Should the current crop of wrist-mounted screens fall short of your sartorial standards, perhaps the Pebble Time Round Smartwatch is what you’ve been looking for.
The Time Round is the lightest and thinnest smartwatch on the market, but that doesn’t mean it skimps on features.
Pebble has launched Pebble Time Round, their newest smartwatch said to be the thinnest and lightest watch in the world. The watch band also comes in two sizes, 14mm or 20mm. While that is a pretty big downgrade from the rectangular variant, it is still better than Android Wear offerings and the Apple Watch. The Timeline concept allows the user to easily scroll through content from the past, present and future in one interface, making the most of the small display by bringing notifications, ongoing actions and calendar reminders into one place. It is always on which is a bonus for telling time.
“The fifth Pebble watch has graduated from geek chic into something altogether more grown up”, Wareable said. For buyers located in the United Kingdom, the Pebble Time Round watch is expected to be available later this year. The round-faced Pebble will look more like a traditional watch, with a very thin body, though it will make some sacrifices when it comes to battery life as a result. All previous Pebble watches offered at minimum three days of battery life, and usually around 6 days, but the new Pebble Time Round only promises 2 days with regular use.
Pre-order of the Pebble Time Round starts today and shipping will start in November.
