Pebble Time Round launches on November 8
This is by far the company’s thinnest and lightest wearable to date. Not that we’re really complaining, considering it’s the Pebble Time Round we’re talking about here. It all begins in an initial funding from Kickstarter. This is the history, smartwatch with rounded body make sense. With a classic round design, built-in microphone, and a slew of loved Pebble features, you’ll always be in the know without compromising style or fit. Apple recently launched Apple Watch and received awesome response from media.
As a recap on the Time Round, this is Pebble’s first round watch that still features an e-paper display. The watch will also support many third-party apps. Unlike the Pebble Time, the Time Round is only splash resistant and not water resistant up to 30 metres.
As for the watchcase color selection, you’ll have your choice between black, silver, and rose gold.
Compared to previous models, Pebble Time Round has shorter battery backup.
That said, Pebble did have to compromise a bit to deliver this particular form of smartwatch, significantly reducing battery life expectation from a week to about two days.
We will also soon be posting our full review of the new model here on Pocket-lint in the next week, but we also got a taste of several designs in order to give you our first impressions. However, while it is in the same family, and with the same colour Pebble OS and Timeline software, the Pebble Time Round is aimed at a very different watch wearer. On Android, those alerts are actionable, meaning you can do things such as reply to text messages using your voice.
Engadget review says, “The Pebble Time Round is the most elegant smartwatch Pebble has ever made”.
The Pebble Time Round will release on November 8, which is the day that orders will go live online, and Best Buy and Target stores in the U.S. will have the watch in stock and ready to purchase.
