Pederson, Rodgers had different paths after backing up Favre
The Packers have one more on-field workout Sunday before boarding the team charter to fly to Philadelphia for Monday night’s game.
It’s time for our (cough) expert predictions for the Week 12 matchup. The Packers have allowed the first points in every game of their losing streak, and a similar slow start would benefit the Eagles defense. So he clearly deemed it necessary to put it out there publicly that he believes in this team, despite its four-game losing streak and a malaise that’s lasted more than a month.
Rodgers and Nelson also improvise well, several Eagles said, which allows them to make plays when Rodgers escapes from the pocket. “And I think you the combine that with his ability to run after the catch, he can take a short pass and run over a defensive back”. The Dallas Cowboys (10-1) defeated the Washington Redskins (6-4-1) and the Detroit Lions (7-4) beat the Minnesota Vikings (6-5).
This is a battle of two pretty desperate teams. The Eagles at 5-5 still have a decent shot at making the playoffs, but need to go on a little run. It’s also inconsequential that the Packers have slipped to 4-6 and are longshots to make the postseason, Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins. Eagles are 5-1 on “Monday Night Football” since 2013. I think shows in the way he speaks, the way he carries himself whether we win or lose, or in games when we’re up or down. They’ve outscored opponents 108 to 38 in those tilts.
In their last game, they gave up 515 yards and 42 points to the Washington Redskins, who averaged a staggering 8.3 yards per play.
A win for the Eagles would mean Philadelphia’s playoff hopes are still very much alive. The Packers have done such a poor job covering kickoffs, for example, they have lost over 9 expected points this season on kickoffs. Green Bay has really struggled recently. I definitely think I’m that kind of running back that gets better and starts to wear them down. If there were any left over that didn’t get thrown at the visiting buses, that is. Eagles fly at high at home. The Eagles’ top three receivers have combined for six scores.
The Birds 24/7 crew thinks the Eagles will win this week.
Trend: The Packers are 4-1 SU and ATS in their last five games against the Eagles. All the math favors the Eagles here. In 2016, Rodgers has totaled 25 touchdown passes and seven interceptions.
Eagles: Doug Pederson has the team in playoff contention. It is up to Pederson to keep Wentz in his comfort zone. They are at their best operating a ball-control, balanced offense.
Because the Packers have more offense than the Eagles but no defense, this should be a well-contested shootout.
My instinct here is to take Green Bay. Rarely in the National Football League do teams fail to adjust and get burnt the same exact way every week.
Sure, the coach can fire any of his assistants and the G.M. can fire the coach and the CEO can fire the G.M. and the executive committee can fire the CEO and the board of directors can supplant the executive committee, but those powers take a back seat to corporate politics that become much harder to navigate when there isn’t one person who can say without fear of resentment or repercussion or revenge that change is happening.
When Wentz talks, Eagles coaches and players agree, it’s with the added responsibility of being the face of the franchise. The Packers offense will be way over matched against a top ranked defense that is only giving up an average of 17 points a game. They’re expecting it to be closer to their games than those the Packers have played. Darren Sproles (rib) and Nelson Agholor (psyche) are hurting.
The game is likely to be the most important game of Carson’s rookie season in my eyes. We’re all one team. Even when Aaron Rodgers has a solid game, the Packers still can’t seem to get the ball rolling.
Rodgers, however, has not lost his confidence. Wendell Smallwood and Kenjon Barner will be called on to carry more of the load behind a shuffled offensive line.
That said, in nine years as the starter, Rodgers has rarely, if ever, said something he hadn’t thought through in advance.
