Pedro’s mother confirms Manchester United transfer?
The Spanish newspaper say Ed Woodward is going to visit Barcelona’s offices tomorrow with Man United’s final offer for Pedro and suggest that a figure around €25m is what United want to pay, rather than his €30m release clause, which is somewhat risky given that the difference is only €5m.
But the Dutch boss recently told the Daily Mail his side still needs to address the lack of speed up front, especially considering Angel Di Maria is expected to leave the club to join Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcelona had already identified a possible replacement for Pedro in Nolito who plays for Celta Vigo, a club previously managed by Enrique; however, he wouldn’t be able to move until January when the club’s transfer embargo is lifted.
Guardiola, speaking ahead of the pre-season Audi Cup tournament, said: “He is one of the best players you can imagine”. “He has won the European Championship, Champions League, he has played lots of games for Barcelona“.
Manager Louis van Gaal has bolstered the squad during the summer transfer window with the additions of Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin, while also signing goalkeeper Sergio Romero.
“I think it would be a good challenge for him and he will have more playing time”.
With Di Maria on his way out of Old Trafford, Van Gaal has named the Barca winger as the flawless candidate to fill the void left by the former Real Madrid star.
